The details

1Two Automation Engineers –  Paul Reddy & Alan Kelly visited Le Cheile Secondary School in Blanchardstown. Le Cheile is a new school, only recently opened and there are 80 students. The engineers divided them into four groups, with each engineer taking 2 groups each. Mr Niall O’Connor was the teacher involved in co-ordinating the event.

The presentation involved a talk on engineering as well as an experiment. They carried out the lemon battery experiment which went down a treat, the students were extremely interactive and it was very enjoyable.

This is the first year that our organization has got involved in Engineers Week and it proved very beneficial all round – to students and to our engineers. We will definitely be getting involved next year and would strongly encourage other organisations to do the same.
