Calling volunteer engineers: Can you visit a school or library during Engineers Week?

How can you get involved?

There are only a few weeks left until Engineers Week and hundreds of schools and plenty of libraries are getting in touch to ask for volunteer engineers to visit them. Can you help?

If you are an existing registered STEPS volunteer:

  1. Login to SmartSTEPS (your username is your email address and you can reset your password on the login page).
  2. Select a school or library to visit from the visits and events map.

If you haven’t registered as a STEPS volunteer:

  1. Contact your local school to arrange a visit.
  2. Contact Nicola in STEPs on 01 6651339 to arrange a library visit.
  3. The volunteer section of the STEPS website has lots of resources and training materials available to help you plan your activity.
  4. Please submit the details of all your activity to the Engineers Week website as this allows us to keep track of all the great activity that is taking place during the week!

Visiting schools or libraries is a great way to support and inspire young people in your local area while developing key communication skills. Don’t forget all of your STEPS activities count towards your CPD credits!
