Local Authorities and County Councils play a significant role in the success of Engineers Week

Local authorities and County Councils are always very active during Engineers Week by organising a range of fun activities in the local area. Inspiring the next generation of engineers, and showcasing innovative projects in each town by collaborating with libraries, third level institutions, and organisations.

Engineers Ireland are calling on the local authorities of Ireland again this year to get involved and celebrate the world of Engineering.

Organise an event within your local authority’s offices or nearest library for children in the community.

Need inspiration? Here are a few examples of how to get involved:

Link up with your local library! Provide or source an engineer to visit students in the library. As part of the ‘Work Matters’ initiative under the Library Development Strategy 2018 -2022, involvement in Engineers Week will reestablish partnerships and help achieve these goals.

We have teamed up with the curiosity box. Sponsor a teacher and class of 30 with all the resources and materials they need to carry out comprehensive educational engineering workshops throughout Engineers Week. Find out more

Register your events by January 31st to be an official Engineers Week partner and receive merchandise to support your activities here

Don’t forget there are lots of resources available to accompany your Engineers Week activities ranging from logos, attendee evaluation form, photo consent form, engineering challenge pack and much more. Download here
