I’m an Engineer, Get me out of here is returning this Engineers Week, running from Monday 2nd – Friday 13th March 2020.
I’m an Engineer is an online STEM engagement activity where school students meet and interact with real engineers. Everything happens online, so students can take part from the classroom and get involved from home. There will be running 3 themed zones in I’m an Engineer this March around the topics of Automation, Environment, and Health – read more about them here.
Teachers – connect your students with engineers!
Engaging your students in the I’m a Engineer activities can help them to see engineers as “normal people”, and contribute to the idea that science and engineering might be “for them”. To register your interest in the activity, go to imanengineer.ie/teachers/
Applications close Friday 17th January for the I’m an Engineer activity in March, so make sure you register before then to receive an email about how to apply. If you have any questions or would like more information, please contact email@example.com call (+353) 076670 5832
Engineers – engage school students with your work!
Taking part is an enjoyable and easy way to get involved in STEM engagement. You’ll develop your communication skills and gain a fresh perspective on your work, while showing students that being an engineer could be something ‘for them’ too.
“I was impressed by the level of the questions from the students, both in the live chats and in the “Ask” section. I’ll be recommending I’m an Engineer to friends, colleagues and schools!” Kevin, Biomedical engineer
