Engineers Week is an excellent platform for enthusing, motivating and directing people towards a career in engineering.

The purpose of our event at IBM was to provide an opportunity to children to learn more about the world of engineering in a fun, informative and interactive environnement. The students demonstrated fantastic aptitude for teamwork and problem solving and in the process had a lot of fun.
No doubt we will see some of there budding engineers working for IBM in the future.Donnacha McCarrick

My 14 year old son had the spark of wanting to become an engineer now he has the fire burning to do it. We got so much more than we ever thought thanks
Grainne Jordan - Dublin
Fantastic day, never thought we would have such a great family day. It was such a bonus that it was so educational. Thanks so much, look forward to next year.
Tina Healy - Cork
It was a great experience for both myself and my daughter. The enthusiasm shown by the organisers was tremendous and I was in places in Dublin I haven’t been in years. This was an enormous break for both of us and we were thrilled with the escapism and opportunity to get stuck into something wonderful. It was really well organised and we are looking forward to next year.

My son and his 13 year old sister both attended the Science Magic Show at the Cork Opera House. They both enjoyed the show and reports from their friends were very positive. I have often spent a lot of money entertaining the kids with a lot less success than we experienced with Engineered. Engineers’ Week provided a brilliant outlet for my science mad 10 year old who constantly bemoans the lack of science related activities in the primary school curriculum.
Thank you all and we look forward to participating again in 2009.Michael Dwyer – Parent
Engineers at South Dublin County Council had a great collaborative experience with our partners here from IIT Dublin to get the week up and running. Organising and hosting activities during Engineers Week was a fantastic experience for South Dublin County Council and we are really excited about getting involved in Engineers Week 2010! More local authorities should take part!

Every Engineer should get involved in Engineers’ Week. The fun and excitement generated by activities promoting Engineering has to be experienced!

I brought a group of sixth class pupils to the “Decoding the Code” workshop in Limerick. The kids had a ball! And as their teacher I’d like to thank those running it. They were helpful and kind at all times. Thanks for a great day!
My kids (aged 10, 6 and 3) just love these events, we go in early and are usually last to leave. We attended an Engineering Week event today (19th Feb 2011) at the Galway City Museum. Very enthustaic engineering students (from NUIG) were present at all the stands going to great lengths to explain the concepts in great detail. Fanstastic day out and well done to all involved. You guys are what makes Ireland great in these difficult times.
